About Me

Wow, you really made it through and reached this site. That means you must be really interested in who I am. And I am not going to let you down on this. On this little page you find all the important details you need to know.

My name is Mauricio Prinzlau and I am the creator of this site and various other sites in different languages on the internet. Feel free to browse through my Adobe Photoshop tutorial site in Spanish (hey, you might even catch up on what you learned in school). Or have a look at a German Coffeeblog I designed which is called the Barista Blog, written by Arne Preuss.

I am incredibly passionate about all things web. So yeah, you can call me a geek if you want. But: that’s exactly what you have been looking for right? Somebody who could really give you advice for your online backups. And here I am.

Uhh a little longer hair this time ;)

When I was 16 years old I went as an exchange student for a year abroad to Mexico. It was one of the best years in my life. I had taken so many pictures and videos of my favorite places and friends and I had saved all of them on one single hard drive – because I didn’t even think about data loss. Then one day nothing was working, zero, zilch, nada. I tried to recover all my memories but it was impossible. So now I need to rely on my memory to recall all those beautiful moments. I don’t want the same thing happening to you. It is painful – heart breaking.

In my former company where I was an online community manager for the biggest poker school in the world they called me “Mr Backup” because I was (and still certainly am) paranoid when it comes to losing my data. I was constantly making several backups of my hard drives. And I am talking about both local and online backups! So I had at least 3 backups that were allways up-to-date. This obession with my data gave me the drive to test loads of different online backup solutions and I  share all of my insights with you right here.

As you might have noticed my English is not perfect because I am German. Yikes! Being German obviously has upsides and downsides…Upsides are: we are very thorough. This is a good thing because you are not going to read any shitty reviews here that tell you all the blabla you already know. Downsides are: well, you certainly know the stereotypes of the Germans better than I do.

About Cloudbackuping.com

I started Cloudbackuping as a personal website (and it still is) but I decided it was time to become even better resource for people. That’s why I decided to hire some kick ass news and content writers. I am still in charge of quality assurance and I still write all the provider reviews myself. Also, I’ll cover all in-depth articles you can find here to help you with my expertise.

One more thing: the fact that you’ve found the way to my website and that you have made your way through to this page makes me owe you my gratitude. Because this site makes a whole lot of work the best thing you can do is leave me a comment and tell me your experience with the backup providers presented on this site. Or have you got a horrible story that you want to share? Just post them into the comments section in each post and I’ll be answering.

Yours truly,

Mauricio Prinzlau

Thank up for your reviews, Mauricio. I am in the process of choosing a cloud backup site and was struck by the depth of your reviews. I thought I would like to sign up with GoogleDrive, but when I tried to do so, I was informed that I cannot at the moment and they will email me when I can. I presume this means that it is still a beta product and not available to all and sundry (I think I must be the sundry!). Perhaps you might like to mention this fact in your review.
Cheers,
Mel in Nova Scotia

Hello Mauricio,
Loving your site. making things simple for others is a great job. Most of the people don’t use the backup as they don’t have much knowledge about it. You are really making sence in them with your simple and interesting articles.
Keep writing :)

Hola Mauricio,

Love your site & your energy, as well. Your dedication to answering questions – along with some of your other regulars is amazingly detailed & appreciated! I just returned from a 3 year sojourn in beautiful Mexico, so I understand your appreciation for the people and the beauty there. I feel for you losing the photos & data – it is heartbreaking (been there, too) to say the least. Just wanted to say “Thank You” for helping me choose a backup solution, I was tired of Acronis’ high prices and low ratings, along with insistence that I pay more just to include a second computer…. I’ve upgraded nearly every year, you’d think they’d give me a ‘bonus’ now and then, but nope! Anyway, your work is stellar and much appreciated! Have a great evening! Donna
